We were hosted by the warm and wonderful\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.casey.org\/\">Casey Family Programs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was also a good chance to highlight some native based funders.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"www.potlatchfund.org\">Potlatch Fund<\/a>\u00a0which is a 501C3 funded first nations in WA sent a representative.<\/p>\n<p>Also, we met the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.quilcedavillage.org\/charitable_fund\/charitable_funds.asp\">Tulalip Tribes Charitable Funds<\/a>\u00a0which is one of the casino financed tribal charitable funds. The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.muckleshoot.nsn.us\/gifts\/muckleshoot-donations-.aspx\">Muckleshoot Tribe&#8217;s Charity Fund<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kalispeltribe.com\/charitable-fund\/\">Kalispel Charitable Fund<\/a>\u00a0are\u00a0also in\u00a0Washington.<\/p>\n<p>For a great picture of First Nations funding groups in the broader community from Nisqually Tribe \u00a0click to this video of\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hI-_jBrT6ys\">Nisqually Tribe 2009 Charitable Donations<\/a>\u00a0which is also in WA.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the North West region&#8217;s \u00a0Tribal funders is the Oregon based\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctsi.nsn.us\/charitable-contribution-fund\">Siletz Tribal Charitable Fund<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are more such as Texas based\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nrcprograms.org\/\">National Relief Charities<\/a>\u00a0which is a public charity under IRS.<\/p>\n<p>There will be more on this topic here in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was an inspiring and informative event March 19 with 30 professionals from throughout the North West who met in Seattle Mar 19 to explore ideas on furthering philanthropy in their communities and organizations.
