After reading this article<\/a> twice, and yet again the paragraph where the author purports to show that \u201cit\u2019s wrong to think that Bergson\u2019s idea of duration can be assimilated into the idea of psychological time\u201d,<\/p>\n

I am still unable to find any explanation of the difference between our internally experienced psychological time (which, by the way can not necessarily always be \u201caligned with external clock time\u201d) and \u201cthe first-person experience<\/em><\/i> of (Bergson\u2019s unmeasurable) duration\u201d (which they appear to identify as the \u201clived time\u201d in terms of which \u201cAn hour in the dentist\u2019s chair is very different from an hour over a glass of wine with friends\u201d).<\/p>\n

On the other hand Steven Savitt\u2019s \u201csolution\u201d does not address the subjective nature of duration and appears to just identify it with the non-subjective proper time associated with a possible observer\u2019s world line – which seems to be just giving up on the idea of any special \u201cphilosophical\u201d time as this has always been the only kind of time that is ever discussed in relativistic physics.<\/p>\n
