But to do the same with the Doors &#8216;Riders of the Storm&#8217; really does just convert a great song to Muzak<\/p>\n<p>Actually I prefer to go the other way, especially with national anthems (for which the American one becomes quite beautiful and particularly appropriate for anyone disappointed at the apparent failure of an enterprise of great promise)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One has to wonder why anyone would rework a song like R.E.M.\u2019s \u201cLosing My Religion\u201d from Minor to Major Scale, though I suppose at least it serves someone&#8217;s political purpose.
