But even when someone has the wit to give us <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/21176\/covid-19-infection-density-in-countries-most-total-cases\/\">numbers per million<\/a> I would prefer to be able to choose my own list of countries and\/or look at other data than mere reported infection rates.<\/p>\n<p>What I really want is an easy link to a complete database of <em>all<\/em> confirmed COVID-19 diagnoses including fields for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>date of first suspected diagnosis,<\/li>\n<li>date of confirmed diagnosis,<\/li>\n<li>estimated time from infection to suspected diagnosis (based eg on severity of symptoms at time of diagnosis)<\/li>\n<li>political jurisdiction (as closely as possible),<\/li>\n<li>employment exposure level (medical worker, other public-facing service, non-public-facing worker, other, none)<\/li>\n<li>possible source from infected contact (family, workplace contact. medical workplace contact, known community, known traveller, unknown)<\/li>\n<li>severity (asymptomatic, non-hosp flu-like, hospitalized, ICU, fatal)<\/li>\n<li>outcome (recovery, death)<\/li>\n<li>date of outcome determination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Why isn&#8217;t such a thing easily available to whomever wants to study it?<\/p>\n<p>Sources:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/21176\/covid-19-infection-density-in-countries-most-total-cases\/\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">COVID-19 Cases per Million Inhabitants: A Comparison<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><em style=\"font-size: inherit;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/emergencies\/diseases\/novel-coronavirus-2019\/situation-reports\">WHO Situation reports<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am sick and tired of seeing only what journalists have managed to pull out from random published reports &#8211; especially when that consists of summary statistics based just on numbers by nation.
